Mangaluru, November 27: Sr Carmel Rita's first official visit to Carmel School on November 25 after assuming office as provincial superior, was a memorable day for the school.
Sr Carmel Rita, the provincial bursar, Sr Linet D’Souza and joint secretary of the school, Sr Edna Furtado were warmly welcomed by the tiny tots who put on a spectacular performance. They dramatized the stages of a plant and compared their life in school to little seeds that have been nurtured and looked after with love and affection, helping them to blossom and bloom into good human beings with a strong foundation inculcating moral values.
The programme commenced with thanksgiving to God for his love, grace and mercy and invoking his blessings through a prayer service and a prayer dance. Sr Sarika, the principal in her words of welcome mentioned Sr Carmel Rita as a leader who inspires, motivates and encourages others.
A beautiful welcome song was sung.
A short report of the programmes conducted, the events celebrated and the achievements accomplished by the school were presented in the form of an enactment by the angels and alma mater. A power point presentation was also shown.
Sr Carmel Rita in her inspiring address appreciated the tiny tots for their creative welcome and also expressed her joy and feeling of love and gratitude for the immense trouble taken to put up this creative programme. She appreciated and applauded the performance of the students and encouraged them to have a goal in life and to strive to fulfill that goal at any cost. She expressed her high opinion about the enthusiastic teachers who work hard to bring about revolutionary changes toward educational development.
Sr Lidwyn Pinto the vice principal voiced her gratitude. The programme was compered by Lidwin D’Souza.
