Mangaluru, October 21: "The PWD has approved Rs two crore for widening the Kankanady railway station road," said MLA J R Lobo, on Friday, October 20, at the ground breaking ceremony of the project work.
“Pumpwell to Padil road is an important stretch to go to the Kankanady railway station. Its narrowness was the problem. Discussions were held with the government after realising the problem. Necessary funds are approved,” he said.
He said that the development of that road was his dream. “Traffic will ease if the road is widened. People should cooperate in this regard,” he said.
Rickshaw drivers felicitated him on the occasion.
Corporator Pravin Chandra Alva, Mangaluru taluk land justice board member Denis D’ Silva and Congress activists were present.
