Mangaluru, Oct 13:   Personnel of Bajpe station in the city arrested a person on the allegation of sexually harassing a minor girl. The girl had alleged that the accused sexually harassed her when she was returning home after delivering milk to the dairy.

A case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) stands registered against the accused, identified as Muhammed Faizal (37), resident of Achary Jora in Kuppepadavu. The girl happens to be a high school student. She was going back home after visiting the milk dairy when he sexually assaulted her before fleeing, it is said.

After a complaint was registered in Bajpe station, the police undertook investigation and arrested Faizal from Kuppapadavu. He was produced in the court after which he was remanded to  judicial custody.

The police have learnt that Faizal, an auto rickshaw driver by profession, had married twice. He also works as water supply  operator in Kuppepadavu gram panchayat.
