Udupi, Oct 7: Dr Veerendra Hegde, on Friday, October 6, inaugurated the office for the upcoming Palimaru Paryaya Math at Vidymanya Sabhabhavan, near Car street here.
Dr Hegde said, "Those who believed in religious service, guru seva and are enthusiasts of life, will not feel life hard.
"Udupi Paryaya is a festive season for locals. In a time when professional and personal life became corrupt in the name of modernisation, there is a need to protect our original rich heritage, literature, and religion. The present-day youth are sinking in the flood of modernisation. There is a need to protect the original structure, values, and flavour of ancient Paryaya," he said.
He further continued, "Looking at the present developments, people get back to devotion. They turn again to realise the existence of God. I hope good things happen in Kaliyuga.
Many changes have occurred among people in just 25 years. They have started respecting their own life. There is no need to worry about the future unnecessarily," said Dr Hegde.
"There is a need to create awareness among the public about the proper usage of water and the existent water crisis. Balance through pro-nature activities is necessary. It is also important to pass a message to the youth and Indians about saving nature through the Paryaya procession," he stressed.
A new website was launched on the occasion by chief guide Mohan Alva.
Mohan Alva said, "People should work with commitment and dedication. The proper execution of Paryaya work is very challenging. Everyone should get united for the success of the Paryaya event."
