Mangaluru, Oct 2: Dakshna Kannada district BJP has made elaborate arrangements to accord a warm welcome to national president of the party, Amit Shah, on his arrival at the airport here on Monday October 2 at 6 pm. As per plan, Shah will be accompanied by a procession of about 300 vehicles till the state's border with Kerala at Talapady. BJP leaders from Kerala will receive him at Talapady. Amit Shah will return here on the evening of October 3 and stay here overnight.
BJP has gone into a tizzy over this visit and series of meetings are being held by the party in preparation for its national president's visit. Separate meetings were held at Bengaluru on Sunday since morning for various party cadres. Being aware that Amit Shah will be stressing on booth level organization of the party, party leaders have collected information about work done by its Vistaraks at booth level.
Meeting of people connected with proposed Rath Yatra of BJP were also held and the concerned were instructed how to go about their responsibilities. At the inaugural of the programme at Bengaluru, in which Amit Shah will be the inaugurator, it was decided to put together four lac people. At taluk level too crowds of not less than 10,000 has to be brought together during the visits of the Rath Yatra, it was told.
BJP state president, Yeddyurppa, state BJP in-charge, Muraleedhar Rao, general secretaries, Shobha Karandlaje and Aravind Limbavali and former deputy chief minister, R Ashoka, led these meetings.
Shah will take part in a meeting of state BJP leaders and office bearers at Ocean Pearl Hotel at 10 am on October 4. On the same evening, he will participate in a meeting of BJP workers from the district at TMA Convention Centre. A meeting of elected representatives and BJP activists has also been planned.
BJP has made detailed arrangements like lining up his route with BJP flags. Yeddyyrappa and many state level leaders will be in the city. BJP activists believe that Shah's visit willl further boost the party's influence in coastal Karnataka. Police have made security arrangements from airport to Talapady and again during Shah's visit to the city on Tuesday.
