Mangaluru: Taluk level athletic meet inaugurated at Mangala Stadium

Mangaluru, Oct 2: Higher primary and high school level Taluk athletic meet conducted by Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat and department of public instruction, in association with Mangaluru North and Maryvale High School, Kinnigol, was inaugurated by chief whip of Legislative Council Ivan D’Souza at Mangala Stadium, Mangalore on Sunday, October 1.

“Without preparation you cannot perform, you cannot produce. Students are eagerly waiting to exhibit their talents in the field of games and sports. We need to prepare for our sports and prepare ourselves for our future. As education in the classroom is important, games in field are also important,” said Ivan D’Souza.

“Participation is important than success. We need to take games and sports as sportive persons. Exhibit your talents and participate in the events,” said mayor Kavitha Sanil. She also wished success to all the participants and organizers. 

Sr Mariola BS the secretary of Bethany Education society, Mangalore Province wished well and congratulated the management of Maryvale Higher Primary School, Kinnigoli for the well-organized day.

The students of Maryvale School, Kinnigoli delivered a grand performance at the inauguration. The event was declared open by releasing balloons in the sky.

Sr Divina welcomed the august gathering. Sr Shanti Agnes, headmistress of Maryvale Higher Primary School presented mementos to the guests.
