Yanbu: Team Binfahad win YACA Ramadan Cup

Yanbu, May 24: Team Binfahad won a crucial super over against Jotun at YACA T10 Ramadan Cup 2017 on May 19 at the Yanbu Cricket Association (YACA) Cricket Ground. Achieving a comfortable seven wicket win over Punjab Eleven in the semi-finals, the team marched to the finals to lock horns with Jotun.

In the final round, Binfahad won the toss and chose to field. The team restricted Jotun's score to 79 all-out, giving Binfahad a target of 80 runs to chase.

In the replay, Yunus and Hafiz opened their innings to Binfahad and in the first ball itself, Hafiz got run out. Tabish however saved the day and played brilliantly.

Younus and Afthab got dismissed. Tabish and Safwan played a few good shots before getting dismissed. Shoaib was out for an LBW. Muthalib and Inthizar continued to play in the last two overs. Muthalib hit a return catch when the team needed 10 runs to win. Inthizar Ali and Sammy continued with the chase, but could not make it in the last over thereby ending in a tie.

In the super over, Tabish and Hafiz scored just 6 runs. Hafeez bowled well and took a wicket for 2 runs. He played a crucial role in Team Binfahad's second victory.

Tabish was declared Man of the Match for his brilliant game in the finals and Aftab Bin Fahad was announced best player of the tournament. Shabir from Mangalore Challengers was awarded for best bowler.
