Abu Dhabi: Mangalore Cup cricket tournament to kick off on Feb 24

Abu Dhabi, Feb 18: Mangalore Cup 2017 (season 5) overarm cricket tournament will be held under the auspices of the Mangalorean Cricket Club (MCC) at Sheikh Zayed International Cricket Stadium, here on February 24.

Only Indian nationals are allowed to play in the tournament. Matches will be of 6 overs, with hard tennis MRI ball.

MCC president Lathif K H said, "This is the fifth consecutive year of MCC tournament. It is getting bigger and better by the year, and this time we are hosting the event on an international cricket pitch. We have received immense support from cricket lovers and Kannadigas of United Arab Emirates for the last 4 seasons, and we are expecting more teams and around 5000 crowd this year."

Many delegates will be participating in the opening and prize distribution ceremonies. A book on ” MCC Milestones” will be released at the event. Entertainment and lucky draw prizes will be given to spectators.

Winning team will get a trophy and cash prize of AED 12,222; while the runner-up team will get a trophy and cash prize of AED 6,222

Cash prizes and trophis will also be given in the following categories: Man of the series, best batsman, best bowler, best Keeper, best fielder, best all-rounder, best catcher, man of the match in the final, and man of match in every league.
