Dubai, Dec 10: A much-awaited Literary Forum "Kannada Sahithya Vedika" was inaugurated by Rashtrakavi Dr G S Shivarudrappa at the Karnataka Sangha Dubai. In his inaugural address Dr G S Shivarudrappa expressed his desire and wished all the Kannadigas of UAE and other naighbouring countries to make use of this platform for their various Kannada Literary activities.
He also congratulated the president and members of the Sangha for their various useful activities. Guest of honour well-known stage artiste C R Simha and his wife were present on the occasion. President C R Shetty welcomed while general secretary Krishnaraj Thanthri compered the programme. Members of the committee and sub-committe were also present. Joint secretary Jayanth Shetty proposed the vote of thanks.
Dr G S Shivarudrappa Felicitated by Karnataka Sangha
It was a joyous occasion for the Kannadigas of Dubai when Karnataka Sangha Dubai honoured Rashtrakavi Dr G S Shivarudrappa in a memorable programme held at Winny's Restaurant auditorium Dubai. The programme began with a composition of Dr G S Shivarudrappa "Shubhodhaya" being sung by the members of the Sangha. C R Shetty, president welcomed. Ranjani Suresh gave a brief account of Sangha's various activities and introduced chief guest Dr G S Shivarudrappa and guest of honour well-known stage artiste C R Simha.
Dr G S Shivarudrappa and his wife were then honoured by C R Shetty, president of the club with shawl and momento. Krishnaraj Tanntri read the citation and presented it. Treasuere Manohar Hegde presented flowers and fruits. Ranjani Suresh presented Rudrani Shivarudrappa with a momentoe.
Guest of honour C R Simha and his wife were also honoured on the same occasion.Special guests Manjunath Sagar, editor of Hridaya Vahini, Dr K P Putturaya, noted writer, artistes Chandrika Gururaj, Kadesh G K, Sahana Bhat, Prof Hegade Jadugar were introduced to the gathering by Shashidar Nagarajappa. Jayanth Shetty , joint secretary, Anitha Prabhu, Aruna S M Chandrashekar Sankale, Daya Kirodian, Lawrence D'Souza, Abdul Razak, executive committee members presented momentos and flowers to artistes and special guests. Krishnaraj Thantri compered the programme and proposed the vote of thanks.
