Kundapur, Aug 23: “Art can change society. It will not be wrong to say that art is a strong medium that maintains the mental equilibrium and creates awareness,” opined state minister of food and civil
supplies, U T Khader.
































U T Khader was chief guest at the four day long national level ‘Monsoons Colours’ arts camp held by Yuva Meridian Bay Resort Spa, Bhoomi and Yuva Meridian held at Yuva Meridian, Koteshwara on August 22.

“Development and change are possible with arts and cultural tourism. There are amazing natural resources here. I will discuss with the minister of tourism and the state chief minister for developing the spot
as a destination for tourism. Young businessmen Udayakumar Shetty, Vinay Kumar Shetty and Yuva Meridian are developing arts, culture and tourism,” he said.

Udupi Sai Radha developers managing director Manohar Shetty who inaugurated ‘Monsoon Colours’, said "Arts and culture should be conducive for the development of tourism. Yuva Meridian attracts tourists due to seashore, Western Ghats foothills and natural beauty. The efforts of Udaya Kumar Shetty and Vinay Kumar Shetty who invited country level artistes to hold the camp is praiseworthy. Udupi district has also seen talented artistes. May camps such as these be an inspiration to other artistes."

Karnataka Lalitha Academy chairman and Bhoomi company director Dr M S Moorthy speaking on the occasion said that those who see life clearly and as beautiful and live a secular life are artistes. “Just those who draw are not artists. Those with beautiful vision such as Yuva Meridian are also artists.”

Senior advocate former Rotary governor A S Hebbar, Flora and Fauna Eco club president Dr H S Malli were the guests of honour.

Artistes, Raghu Kandooru Bengaluru, Sudhir Ghadnes Delhi, Veena Jai Bhopal, Mohan Sithnooru Gulbarga, Sanju Jain Bhopal, K K Makali Hampy, Shama Sondi Kashmir, Dr Subhash Kammar Bengaluru, Santhosh Adani
Raichur, Harshad Karker Goa, Dr M S Murthi Bengaluru were present.

Udaya Kumar Shetty and Vinay Kumar Shetty of Yuva Meridian Resorts and Spa felicitated the guests. Medini Shetty said a prayer. Journalist Raviraj welcomed and compered the programme. A Yakshagana programme of 15 minutes was held later. The camp will be held till August 25.
