Thailand, Nov 15: Thai Kannada Balaga (TKB), Thailand, celebrated its 21st annual Deepavali and Kannada Rajyotsava on November 10, at Rembrandt hotel- Bangkok. It was a delightful event filled with festivities, cultural performance, games, delicious lunch and much more.
The event began with delicious south Indian breakfast sponsored by Yashodhar Poojary. After exchanging greetings, the programme began by lightning of the lamp by Mahabaleshwar Hegde, Ramesh and the TKB committee members.
Ghena and Srivatsa sang the invocation prayers with their melodious voice. The president of TKB Rashmi Ravi delivered speech and paved way for the cultural events.
The event’s highlight was RAMAYANA RAMAKIEAN which was a special performance celebrating the rich traditions of Ramayana performed by EKKALAK NU NGOEN And TROOP. The timeless epic enhanced the experience of audience. The artists expression, timing and coordination left the audience spell bound. The beautiful performance received standing ovation. The act of Ramayana truly brought in the spirit of celebrating Rama’s victory for Deepavali. Lakshminarayan presented them with a token of appreciation on behalf of TKB.
The day was filled with lots of cultural performances with a special mention to our energetic dancers Cianna, Aardhya, Melriya, Navami, Shwetha and Prisha. While these dancers set the stage on fire our musical champ Viraj played the piano. Advika and Anish played the guitar and sang as the audience grooved to the music.
The TKB committee had arranged over 30 gifts including beautiful sarees and men’s ethnic wear which the audience won by answering the question asked in between the performances. Vijeth Hegde and Kriti Alva entertained the guests by being the hosts of the day.
The special invitee Mahabaleshwar Hegde presented Hindustani classical music and sang some of the devotional songs to which was appreciated by one and all.
Fun games were planned for adults and kids. Margret and Nisha conducted games for adults whereas youngster Prisha and Ishika conducted children’s games. Laughter filled the room during the games.
The best was reserved for the last where in lucky draw was conducted and winner would get a diamond ring sponsored by Shiv Poojary. The dashing Micheal and Laveena won the diamond ring.

The beautiful moments of the entire show were captured by our volunteer photographer John Wilson Pinto (Pinto Creations). The event turned out to be a grand success, full of entertainment and a variety of tasty Indian food.
TKB committee member, Nayana Bhat rendered the vote of thanks, and the day concluded with a group photo of all happy faces.
