Daijiworld Media Network - Mysuru (SP)

Mysuru, Aug 21: Four persons stand arrested by police personnel of Udayagiri station in the city on the charge of murdering Kyathamaranahalli Raju, BJP, and  Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) activist. The policemen said that the arrested persons have confessed to having executed the murder plan because of communal hatred.

After K P Raju was hacked to death on March 13 this year, the BJP had called for city bandh the next day. The  failure of the police to nab the culprits for long had given rise to resentment among the ranks of BJP and other HIndu outfits.

The arrested persons are Abid Pasha (34) from Shantinagar here, Muhammed Hanif (36) from Aziz Sait Nagar, Ayub Khan (27), a resident of Kalyanagiri Nagar, and Hamid Khan (27) from Ghousia Nagar. Abid Pasha has been identified as the prime accused.

City police commissioner, B Dayananda, said that Abid Pasha has confessed to have murdered Raju because of enmity arising out of Raju's opposition to construction of a mosque at Kyathamaranahalli and also relating to his role in communal unrest.

It is said that Abid Pasha is facing eight cases of murder and two murder attempts. During investigation, it came to the fore that he used to murder people because of communal feelings.
