Udupi, Jul 25: “KPCC will pay heartfelt condolences to families of DySPs MK Ganapati and Kallappa Handibag but suicide is not a solution to any problems,” said district-in-charge minister Pramod Madhwaraj while speaking at press club Brahmagiri on Monday, July 25.
“Suicide is not a permanent solution to any problems. Opposition party is misusing suicide cases of DySPs and spreading false messages to public. An order has been passed by the court to submit a comprehensive report on the cases within six months.”
“Minister K J George has resigned voluntarily to facilitate investigation. BJP leaders are indulging in defaming and humiliating the government continuously. They are trying to mislead the public. Congress party respects and trusts investigation bureaus.”
“BJP has alleged a conspiracy against police officials by the Congress-led state government which is resulting in many police personnel committing suicide. But no BJP leader is highlighting suicide case of Kallappa Handibag because two of Bhajarang Dal workers were arrested. The case had been submitted to CID probe and two accused are absconding.”
According to the National Crime record bureau Karnataka from 2003 to 2013, nearly 122 police personnel have been committed suicide within just 10 years in Karnataka.
“Approximately 24 police personnel committed suicide during HD Kumaraswamy government, 13 during B S Yeddyurappa and Sadananda Gowda government, 17 during the term of Jagadeesh Shettar as Chief Minister,” he said.
“FIR has been filed on every BJP council ministers led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They are Smriti Irani, Uma Bharati, Bandaru Dattatreya and Giriraj Singh. FIR is filed against seven ministers out of 19 but Modi did not pressurize any to resign from post.”
“Nearly 18 BJP leaders are facing 30 different cases, which are at the court hearing. Opposition party does not have a moral right to speak about Congress governance. We also condemn BJP activities against Congress,” he added.
