Kundapur, May 25: Parliamentary secretary to the revenue minister, MLA Pramod Madhwaraj received complaints regarding revenue department in a meeting here on Wednesday, May 25.
Only people from Kundapur taluk participated in the meeting due to lack of publicity which angered the parliamentary secretary and he took the Udupi tahsildar to task.
There were complaints that RRT was causing problems. People also complained that there is no registrar software in the office of Sub Registrar, Poonja land is included in Nanja land and cases in the AC court unnecessarily get adjourned.
MLA Pramod Madhwaraj said, “RTC will be distributed in their respective gram panchayat centres within next month. Publicity should be given at least a month in advance when programmes are held in the grams. Paperless work will be started in 48 taluk centres including in the district within a year.”
“Udupi is already included and Kundapur also will be included. Moola Geni farmers law is approved in the President of India's office. Though law is approved, rules are not framed. So the problems have continued. A decision will be taken after discussions with the minister and Chief Minister,” he said.
“I will be visiting all the offices in district. Among people visiting government offices, 70% are concerned to revenue department. I have already visited Uttara Kannada, Kodagu, Chitradurga, Shivamogga districts and revenue department and found that files are kept pending without suitable reason. Applications pending for more than one year will be disposed within the next six months. Officers who have kept files without genuine reason will be suspended,” warned Pramod Madhwaraj.
Kundapur taluk panchayat president Jayashree Mogaveera, Kundapur municipal council president Vasanthi Saranga, fisheries board president B Hirianna, Urban development authority president Jacob D'Souza, Kundapur sub divisional officer Ashwathi S, additional deputy commissioner G Anuradha, Udupi district registrar Ravindra Poojar, Taluk tahsildar Gayathri Nayak and revenue department officials were present.
