Mangaluru: IPL fan park to open at Nehru Maidan on May 24

Mangaluru, May 23: IPL cricket fans can now watch matches live and free of cost. The IPL fan park is for cricket fans who cannot watch the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2016 matches live at stadiums across venues.

IPL fan park venue will be opened at Nehru maidan, here in the city from 5 pm to 11.30 pm on Tuesday May 24. The park initiates in giving the fans living far away from live action the experience of reliving the excitement and atmosphere that comes with watching an IPL match with friends and family at a public location.

The fan park is a BCCI property and is created to boost the game's popularity across all cities in India and to reach out to almost all the fans situated in different parts of the country.

Over 10,000 plus fans in each of these cities will have a stadium-like experience on the weekends throughout the tournament as the matches will be made available on the giant LED of 32 feet x 18 feet screens. Entry will be free and on a first-come-first-serve basis. With access to paid food, beverage stalls and music, the fans will be able to feel like they are in the stadium.

This year the BCCI has selected 34 cities across India and 4 cities in Karnataka namely Hubli, Belgaum, Mangaluru and Mysuru. There will be a live feed on Set max of the fan park during the game.

There will also be a lucky draw coupon where fans get to win a signed jersey and signed bat with two winners per day. Two canters are touring the city and spreading awareness and distributing the coupons.

Stalls present are – game stalls, sponsor stalls, paid food and beverage stalls, VIP box, police and media center. Security of 50 is arranged. Housekeeping is also arranged for as well as volunteers.
