Bantwal, Feb 15: After the pick-up vehicle in which cattle were being transported illegally into Kerala met with an accident near Vittal, the traffickers fled from the scene, leaving the vehicle and the animals behind. This incident occurred in front of Kadambu Daivasthana on Sunday February 14.

It is presumed that the vehicle hit the telephone pole after the driver lost control over the vehicle for some reason. As per the regional transport office records, the vehicle in question, which got badly mangled, is owned by Dinesh Moolya.

The Vittal police took into possession both the vehicle and the vehicle. It is said that that all the three cows found inside the vehicle were stolen. Some locals, who saw that a vehicle with animals had been abandoned by the side of the road, had passed on information to police. A case about the incident stands registered in Vittal station.
