Udupi, Feb 14: Superintendent of police K Annamalai released Tulu tele film ‘Lacchi’ on Saturday, February 13 at SP's office.
The film is produced and directed by Prakash Suvarna, a native of Katpady.
After releasing the film, Annamalai said, “Child trafficking is rapidly increasing in our country and India is placed third in child trafficking and harassment in the world. Most of the time, child trafficking takes place in semi-urban areas. It is a well organized gang. The illegal work happens through middle men.”
“Many creative directors should get inspired by actor Rakshit Shetty. I am looking forward to Prakash Suvarna’s fourth film.”
He appreciated the whole film crew and wished them all the best.
‘Lacchi’ is a fifth Tulu Tele-film produced by Disha Communications, UNICEF Prasar Bharati award recipient. The tele film is based on violence on women and consequences of alcohol addiction.
Akku, Hallimane, Guddadamane and Bhagya are Kannada Tele-films that are produced by Disha Communications which has won many national awards.
Speaking on the occasion, another chief guest Jayakar Shetty Indrali said, “Today's youngsters have lack of information about the reality of life and they need guidance.”
Prof Suresh Rai, lecturer, Thenkanidiyur College narrated the story of the film.
‘Lacchi’ reveals the story of an innocent poor girl struggling in her life to achieve her dream.
Baby H Salian Kodavoor women organiser was felicitated by the film team and artistes of this film were felicitated by the SP Annamalai.
Elizabeth Sunil John D'souza, social worker, Shankarpur, K Satyendra Pai Vijaya Solar Katpady and others were present.
