Bengaluru, Feb 12: Union law minister and former chief minister of Karnataka, D V Sadananda Gowda, who hardly spoke in the recent past, criticised the chief minister Siddaramaiah with unusual harsh words on Thursday, February 11 here.
"The chief minister has said that he is ready to sell his watch for Rs 5 lac. Leave alone his watch, even if he auctions himself, his family will not bid for him.” said Gowda referring to the controversy of Siddaramaiah wearing a watch worth Rs 70 lac.
Gowda was speaking to reporters while campaigning for the BJP candidate for the Hebbal Assembly by-poll in city.
"Siddaramaiah is the worst chief minister Karnataka has ever seen. He has neglected this city and the state. He calls himself a socialist and claims that he leads a simple life. Is wearing a watch worth Rs 70 lac is living a simple life?” Gowda asked.
"The chief minister says that the watch was gifted to him by a friend. You just imagine what type of favour the friend must have received for such an expensive gift?” Gowda questioned.
