Kundapur: Man who made wife consume poison acquitted

Kundapur, May 17: A man who made his wife consume poison and who was also accused of torturing wife mentally and physically has been acquitted by the court.
 
Kundapur additional district and sessions judge Rajashekar V Patil has pronounced this judgement.

The then accused Ibrahim, who has been acquitted now, was charged with poisoning his wife Samina from Bhatkal with whom he had been married since 1996. Ibrahim was also charged with physical and mental harassment of wife for money. Samina who was allegedly poisoned by Ibrahim was taken to hospital by Ibrahim’s mother because of whom she could be saved.

13 witnesses were examined in the case, but due to lack of proper evidence and bad investigations, Ibrahim could not be convicted.
 
Ravikiran Murdeshwar had argued for the accused.
