Gangs clash-two hospitalized, file complaints against each other

Bantwal, Feb 3: Enmity arising out of an issue raised at the general session of the gram panchayat meeting recently resulted in pitched battle between two gangs after which two persons got admitted into hospital alleging murder attempt by each other. The incident occurred on Sunday February 1.

A godown is being built by Jagadish Shetty, son of Venkappa Shetty, from Dapparabail in Pilimogaru village near Vamadapadavu in the taluk near his home. A gram panchayat member named Ramanand Saphalya had raked up this issue at the general session of Chennaittody gram panchayat held a few days back, pointing out that the concerned had not obtained gram panchayat licence in advance as mandated. Relating to the issue, both Jagadish Shetty and Ramanand Saphayla exchanged strong words on Saturday. Both got admitted into different hospital thereafter, and filed separate complaints alleging that the other person had posed life threats, and brandished gun.

In a case registered in the police station, names of gram panchayat mrmber, Ramanand Saphalya, Jagadish Shetty, Venkappa Shetty, Jagannath Shetty, Rama Madivala, Yogeesh Prabhu and five others have been named as assailants.
