Mangaluru, Jan 26: A case stands registered in the women's police station here relating to alleged sexual harassment by a medical practitioner based in the city. The complainant, a young lady, has accused the doctor concerned of sexually harassing her when she had visited him for treatment.
The complaint was lodged by a 20-year-old woman from Vittal in Bantwal taluk. She said that on January 11 she had visited the doctor concerned for getting treatment for an ailment, but he sexually harassed her at his home. The complaint was made on January 22.
As the victim belongs to dalit community, the doctor has been booked under different sections of law pertaining to atrocities on dalits and sexual harassment.
Assistant commissioner of police, Tilak Chandra, has taken up investigation of the case. It is gathered that the accused doctor is absconding.
