Hyderabad, Nov 16: Almost two decades after Sachin Tendulkar and Vinod Kambli scored a record 664 runs for their school, two Hyderabad schoolboys have bettered the feat.

Mohammad Shahbaz Tumbi and B Manoj Kumar of St Peter's High School put on a world record 721-run partnership against St Phillip High School in a 40-over-a-side game.

This is the highest partnership for any wicket in any class of cricket.

The two under-13 batsmen scored triple centuries in a Inter-School under-13 tournament match organised by the Hyderabad Cricket Association. Tumbi and Manoj scored 324 and 320, respectively.

This is also the first instance of two players scoring triple centuries in the same innings in limited-overs cricket.

The total of 721 is also the highest ever total in a limited-overs game, surpassing the previous best of 630 for five in 45 overs by United Cricket Club against Bay Area in a league match in California on August 27, 2006.

St Peter's High School went on to win the match by a mammoth 700 runs with their opening bowler Akram picking up seven wickets for 11 runs as St Phillip High School were bowled out for 21 runs in seven overs.

Tendulkar and Kambli had scored 664 runs for their school Sharadashram Vidyamandir against St Xavier's at Mumbai in 1987-88.
