Guwahati, Nov 7: Three North Zone cricketers, who were in Guwahati to play the Duleep Trophy Group 'B' cricket league match against East Zone, had a narrow escape from the ULFA-triggered bomb blasts on Sunday.
The trio was in the Fancy Bazaar area when the blast took place at the Chai Galli and took shelter at the Sikh Mandir gurudwara in the vicinity.
Sources said on Monday that V R V Singh, Gagandeep Singh and Navneet Singh Ricky were on their way to the gurudwara to pray on the occasion of Guru Parab when the explosion rocked the area.
They rushed to the gurudwara where they remained for more than an hour before being escorted back safely to their hotel.
