Mangalore, Nov 1: “With the aim of strengthening the party in the state, JD(S) leaders H D Deve Gowda and Kumaraswamy will address the party workers’ convention in the city,” said B Mohammed Kunhi, district president, JD(S).
“They will attend the party workers’ convention on Wednesday November 5 at Shanthi Nilaya, Balmatta. JD(S) district leaders will approach former party workers and make them work for the party,” he said addressing the press meet at a private hotel here on Saturday November 1.
Kunhi said, “Though there are four ministers in the undivided Dakshina Kannada, developmental work in the district is lagging. From two years, the government has failed to appoint a commissioner for the Mangalore City Corporation. As there are internal quarrels between ministers, the government has failed to appoint a commissioner for the City Corporation.”
“Criminal activities are rampantly increasing in the district. The timber mafia is looting the forest. People are suffering without proper power. There is also delay in distribution of ration cards and people have to approach offices several times,” he added.
Kunhi said that though the BJP had assured of withdrawing the Aadhar Card, after coming to power it is continuing the same way with relation to Aadhar.
Former minister Amarnath Shetty said, “APL card holders are not getting any facilities. Government should also provide facilities to APL card holders.”
Corporators Aziz Kudroli, Rameeza Nasir, JD (S) district secretary S P Changappa, Vasanth Poojary, and Ram Ganesh were present.
