Mangalore: Divine Call Centre celebrates decennial celebration

Mangalore, Oct 5: It was indeed a moment of grace, celebration and thanksgiving for Divine Call Centre, Mulki, which celebrated its tenth anniversary celebration here on Saturday October 4.

This year being the tenth anniversary of the Centre, DCC Mulki began its decennial celebrations with “Ten Prayer programmes’ in the centre starting from August 16, 2014 to October 4, 2014. These ten prayer programmes included seven Saturdays with different themes dedicated to various associations of the centre and final two prayer programmes were titled as ‘Charismatic Convention’,  ‘Decennial Celebration’’ which took place on October 3 and 4, followed by night vigil.

The decennial celebrations included a day of prayer from 9.00 am to 3.00 pm with a solemn festive Mass celebrated by Bishop Francis Serrao SJ, Bishop of Shimoga Diocese and concelebrated by 33 other priests.  Special prayers were offered for all during the Eucharistic celebration and also during the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.  

Speaking on this occasion, Fr Valerian Pius Fernandes SVD, director of Divine Call Centre, expressed his gratitude to the people and DCC Team and thanked all the sponsors, donors, benefactors, well-wishers and friends for their generosity and prayers for the growth of the Centre. Thousands of people continue to experience the healing touch of the Lord at the centre, added Fr Valerian.

He further said that this Centre is a solace to people going through struggles, pains and despair because of spiritual, emotional, physical and social traumas. Inflow of people has increased steadily with a newly appointed team of preachers and talented lay-persons and he thanked all the people who had extended their support in many ways and helped in the growth of the Centre.

A large number of faithful from the nearby parishes and from far and wide had gathered on this occasion. Festive lunch was served to all those who attended the Centre's anniversary celebration. The Saturday retreat was followed by intercessory prayers and healing service till 3 pm.

Former directors of the Centre Fr Cyprian Lewis SVD, Fr Francis Fernandes SVD, Fr Abraham D’Souza SVD, were honored during the occasion. The SVD provincial of INM Province Fr Paul Vattathara SVD,  Fr Vincent Monteiro, dean of Kinnigoli Deanery, Fr Andrew D’Souza of Pakshikere Pilgrim Centre, Fr Nobert Lobo, parish priest of Immaculate Conception Church Mulki , Fr Anil Kiran Fernandes SVD, Fr Walter Mendonca SVD, Fr Francline SVD, many other priests and a host of devout Catholics were present on the occasion. The other priests who served at this centre were also present to make the occasion very solemn.

To mark this occasion, Divine Call Centre conducted a night vigil for the youths which began at 9 pm in the evening and continued till 5 am on Sunday.

The Night Vigil started with praise & worship, Bible skits, word of God, special prayers, procession of the Blessed Sacrament, Adoration, Divine Mercy Prayer with video visuals of present situation, Healing Service, Deliverance, Anointing of the Holy Spirit, Faith formation by lighting the candles and concluded with the Holy Eucharistic celebration.

Fr Bonaventure of Karvar Diocese, Fr Abraham D’Souza SVD, Fr Valerian Fernandes SVD, Fr Anil Kiran Fernandes SVD, Fr Francline SVD and Divine Call Centre Team along with Divine Mercy Prayer Tower led by Br Rony and team conducted the Night Vigil. It was a wonderful experience according to many who had participated.

Miracles and healings were experienced by many.
