Mangalore, Oct 4: “People should imbibe the values of Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi”, said director of Secondary Education Philomena Lobo while addressing the students on Gandhi Jayanti at Sacred Hearts’ High School, Kulshekar on October 2.
Speaking on the occasion, she said, “Gandhiji, an Apostle of Non-violence, gave us a great example by his thoughts, words and deeds. As we remember him, we need to imbibe his values of Non- violence, truth, sacrifice and dedication to all his brothers and sisters in India and the world”.
She also stressed the importance of manual labour and said that cleanliness is next to godliness. She discussed with the students on how to maintain a healthy mind in a healthy body and said that positive attitude would help us to have a balanced personality.
District project coordinator Manjunath, BRC Laxminarayana, Francis and Hilda Pinto, PTA vice-president Sunil Monteiro and headmistress Sr Cicilia Mendonca were present for the programme.
