Udupi: Government should focus on developing the Koraga community - Girija

Udupi, July 29: The Koraga Development committee staged a protest and held a meet regarding the progressive analysis of tribal community development Tuesday July 29 here in front of the DC's office Rajathadri.

Speaking on the occasion Girija said, "The Government must focus on the conservation of the culture and development of the Koraga community. Most of the government plans on human resource developmental works fail to meet the demands of the deprived classes."

The committee proposed for the the development of education, health, women empowerment and conservation of cultural uniqueness. The committee recommended providing free health treatment and smart cards to every Koraga family. It also spoke for providing RTC, distribution of revenue lands and making flexible rules on the ration card and its renewal process.

The committee urged the government to make an effective implementation of schemes, especially to the tribal community. They have submitted an appeal to DC of Udupi Muddumohan.

Sashikala Sachchari Pete, Sushila Nada, Girija Jannadi, union president Gowri Kenjuru, Vinay, Bogra Kokkane, Bujanga Nacre and others were present.
