Daijiworld Media Network – Puttur (MS)

Puttur, Jan 10: The Uppinangady police have solved a case involving the theft of a box containing 114 grams of gold ornaments from a woman's handbag at the Uppinangady bus stand. Naseema (31), a resident of Kominadka Mane in Bantwal taluk, was arrested in connection with the crime.

Abeeba, the wife of Mustafa from Nekkitadka in Buntra village of Kadaba taluk, had packed a necklace weighing 8 grams and 106 grams of gold ornaments belonging to her brother-in-law’s wife, Haseera Banu, in a box while attending a marriage function. While returning home, Abeeba noticed the zipper of her handbag was open, and the box containing the gold ornaments was missing. She subsequently filed a police complaint.

The police apprehended Naseema, a habitual offender with several theft cases registered against her since 2021, known for stealing and snatching bags from passengers. Upon interrogation, Naseema confessed to the crime, and the stolen gold ornaments were recovered from the storage box of her scooter.

The Uppinangady police team, led by CI Ravi B S and SI Avinash, identified the suspect using CCTV footage from the Uppinangady town area. The footage revealed Naseema boarding a bus to Beltangady after the theft, alighting at Kalleri, and taking an auto-rickshaw toward Pandavarakallu. Acting on this information, the police apprehended her and retrieved the stolen gold.

@real Kujuma, Please dont play victim card by saying that the society is marginalized..... Before independence lot of dynasties were ruled by this community, Nizams etc & after Independence Govt provided lot of opportunities but still this community is termed as backward...... If we rewind.... Till recently community girls getting education was haram, Mic was haram, TV was haram, women working outside was haram, YouTube was haram........ Still you say marginalized ...... Important is to change the mindset

Dear Anil, getting education haram for girls? This is news even to any common muslim. Don't get fooled by IT cell watsapp group or the propaganda. Ours is a religion where women were granted permission to divorce their husbands with a simple procedure known as khula, 1400years back., as permitted in scriptures. This is unheard of in any other religious practices. Women empowernment concept came to European world only 150 to 200 years back when permission to divorce was given. Plz understand the scripture to judge a religion.

There should be a serious punishment for this type of habitual robbers. Because this kind of theif many people will loose their belongings like gold ,mobiles. If the poor people lost or any of These gold used for Wedding purpose then may ve the owner will do suicide and die .In India no serious punishment because of that many. Crimes happening regularly by same person
