Mangaluru, Jan 10: Police have arrested notorious rowdy sheeters Badruddin and Imran in connection with a shooting incident at a second-hand goods shop in Vamanjoor Moodushedde. Both are alleged leaders of the banned PFI organization and did not possess a license for the pistol involved in the incident.

The incident occurred on January 6, when a bullet was accidentally fired from an illegal pistol owned by Badruddin. The bullet struck a computer printer and ricocheted, hitting Safwan in the stomach, causing serious injuries.

Initially, Safwan attempted to mislead the police, claiming the pistol had misfired in his own hand and that it was provided by someone named Bhaskar.

However, investigations by senior police officers, including ballistic and forensic experts, revealed that the nature of Safwan’s injury could not have resulted from him firing at his own stomach. Eye-witness accounts and CCTV footage confirmed the actual sequence of events, according to City police commissioner Anupam Agarwal.

Police are now probing why Badruddin kept an illegal pistol in his shop and the potential target he had in mind.
