Kundapur, Jun 9: Kundapur police on Thursday, Jun 8 arrested four sandalwood smugglers from near Basrur Moorukai on Thursday and confiscated sandalwood pieces from them.

Abdul Khader (35) and Moiddin (29) both from Eshwaramangala in Mudnoor of Putur, Janardan (22) from Nekraje, Kasargod and Suresh Poojary (29) from Enmakaje in Kasargod were arrested.

The police arrested them as there were carrying gunny bags full of sandalwood. A total of 23 kgs of sandalwood valued at Rs 35,000 has been confiscated.

One of the arrested Abdul Khader has several charges registered against him in Shankarnarayan police station.
