Udupi: Parent-teacher meet held at SMVITM, Bantakal

Udupi, Nov 23: Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management (SMVITM), Bantakal organised a parent-teacher meet at the institute premises on November 23.

The major objective of the programme was to make the parents aware of the academic aspects of the B E course, to make them aware of the rules and regulations of the Institute and ensure parental participation in monitoring the performance of the students and contributing to the overall growth of a student by guiding and supporting them.

Dr C K Manjunath, head of Training and Placement, SMVITM spoke on 'Nurturing Success: The Role of Parenting in Shaping Responsible and Resilient Engineering Students'. He gave a detailed report on placement facilities provided by the college. He advised students to prepare properly for the placement.

In his presidential address, Prof Dr Thirumaleshwar Bhat, principal, SMVITM, welcomed the gathering and briefed about the programme. He emphasised that students are the greatest asset of the college. He appealed to all the students to use the facilities in the college in the best manner to excel in their career and have a holistic learning during their stay in the college.

"Students should have high aims, cultivate good habits, abide by the rules, have good vision and should strive hard to achieve their set goals and parents should join hands with the institute to encourage the students to think, work and progress in the direction of Innovation," he said.

Principal said the college is attaining autonomous status soon and also listed the benefits of becoming an autonomous institute.

The programme started with an invocation by Sharanya Tanthry, student of 1st semester CSE and the programme was compered by Sthuthi, dept of Basic Science. The programme was coordinated by student welfare officer Dr Raviprabha K.
