Mangaluru, Nov 24: St Raymond’s Educational Institutions celebrated their Annual Day with grandeur on November 21. The event witnessed the presence of distinguished guests, including Sr Dr Lilly Pereira B S, provincial superior and corporate manager of Bethany Educational Society, Mangaluru Province, who presided over the function.
The chief guest of the day was H R Eshwar, block education officer, Mangaluru South, while the guests of honour included Fr Dr Ivan D'Souza, head of the chair in Christianity at Mangalore University; Sr Vithalis BS, superior of St Raymond’s Convent; Dr G Shwetha, an alumna of the institution; and Ahammed Bava, reporter at Daijiworld Media and an alumnus of the institution.
The program was organized under the leadership of Sr Vidya BS, headmistress of Aided St Raymond’s High School; Sr Shanthi BS, headmistress of St Raymond’s English Medium High School; and Sr Jesintha Crasta BS, principal of St Raymond’s College.
The celebration began with a prayer song, followed by the annual report presented by Sr Vidya BS, highlighting the institution's achievements and progress. Sr Jesintha Crasta BS welcomed the gathering and the dignitaries. The event was inaugurated by Sr Dr Lilly Pereira BS, who unfurled the coconut inflorescence.
Fr Dr Ivan D'Souza blessed the gathering with his prayers and shared insightful words, while chief guest H R Eshwar addressed the audience, emphasizing the uniqueness of each child and the importance of a nurturing approach by parents towards their growth.
In her presidential address, Sr Dr Lilly Pereira BS stressed the significance of education and values in shaping young minds.
The event featured a variety of cultural programs, including dances, songs, and skits performed by the students, which were well-received by the audience.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Megha, lecturer in the BCA department. Melinda D'Souza, lecturer in the commerce department, compered the event.
The Annual Day celebration was a resounding success, thanks to the support and participation of the esteemed guests, staff, parents, and students.
