Bangalore, Jun 7: President A P J Abdul Kalam, who arrived here Monday night on a two-day visit to the city, left for New Delhi Tuesday night after attending day-long programmes.

The first citizen was seen off at the airport by Karnataka Governor T N Chaturvedi, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and senior Government officials.

The President attended the Innovation and Leadership Forum, organised by IBM Corporation, where he addressed about 10,000 city-based employees of the PC maker. The function saw IBM Chairman and CEO Samuel J Palmisano announcing tripling of the company's investment in India from two billion US dollars to six billion dollars in the next three years.

Kalam inaugurated the 37th All India Police Science Congress and called for an integrated approach by the Intelligence Bureau and the police to tackle cross-border terrorism.

Later, he attended the World Environment Day celebrations, organized by the Forest Department, and gave a call for the empowerment of enlightened and disciplined youth to promote a clean habitat movement in the country.

He wound up his hectic programme by attending 'Bangalore Bio-2006', organized by the Karnataka Department of Information Technology, Biotechnology and Science and Technology, and emplaned for Delhi at 1920 hrs.
