Mangalore, Jun 5: The District Crime Intelligence Bureau officials busted an illicit arrack manufacturing unit at Derlakatte on Saturday, June 4.
The DCIB arrested two persons who were found manufacturing hooch. Rs 5 lac worth materials were confiscated by the police. The arrested are Cashmir D’Souza and Ravi while three others involved with the manufacturing unit are reported missing. The police are in search for Jayarama Gowda alias Suresh, Aboobakker from Vittal and Satish from Mangalore.
The police seized 455 litres of spirit, 1,000 arrack sachets, six rolls of plastic sheets having excise department seals, plastic tank, an electric pump worth Rs 5 lac.
