Mangalore, May 29: The death of Narayan who was buried under the rubble of his house was the first death reported due to the incessant rains witnessed by Mangalore on Sunday. The incident which occurred at Babugudde, Attavar was followed by another death reported in Bejai.

Shivarama Devadiga was washed away in a landslip in Bejai. He is said to have fallen into a 20-foot ditch. Although he was rescued, he died on the way to the hospital.
