Karkala, May 24: A tourist bus from Chennai rammed into a Maruti Omni car on sate highway at Neere near here killing the car driver on the spot on Tuesday May 23.
The deceased has been identified as Raghvendra Rao (35), a resident of Chantar near Brahmavar. One Shashikant who was travelling in the car too has been injured in the accident and is now admitted to a private hospital in Udupi.
The tourist bus was on its way to the city from Udupi when it collided with the Maruti car which was going to Udupi from the city at Neere. As a result the car was completely damaged and driver Raghvendra was killed on the spot.
It is said that reckless driving by bus driver Murugesh as the reason behind the fatal accident. The town police have registered a case in this regard and have taken bus driver Murugesh to custody.
