Jenny McCarthy insists son has autism

Los Angeles, Jan 6 (IANS): Model-actress Jenny McCarthy is irked by online news reports that her 11-year-old son Evan is not suffering from autism, a disorder of neural development.

She took to Twitter to share her anger at the reports and said these stories are "blatantly inaccurate" and "completely ridiculous", reports contactmusic.com.

"Stories circulating online, claiming that I said my son Evan may not have autism after all, are blatantly inaccurate and completely ridiculous," McCarthy posted on the microblogging site.

"Evan was diagnosed with autism by the Autism Evaluation Clinic at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Hospital and was confirmed by the State of California (through their Regional Center)," she further added.

McCarthy began her career in 1993 as a nude model for Playboy magazine and is currently co-hosting TV show "The View".
