Udupi: Brahmavar woman rubbishes claims of her links with Yasin Bhatkal

Udupi, Nov 23: A woman from Uppinakote, Brahmavar here who was alleged to have links with Indian Mujahideen co-founder Yasin Bhatkal on Friday Novemver 22 has rubbished the claims. The allegations were levelled by her deceased husband's family on a news channel.
The woman, Yashodha Poojary, spoke to media persons in Udupi and asserted that she was innocent.
"I have done nothing wrong. I am extremely hurt by these allegations. I do not even know who Yasin Bhatkal is. I have never contacted any such persons," she said.
Yashodha (35) stays in Uppinakote with her mother and 12-year-old son. She runs a beauty parlour in Uppinakote.
She got married to Manjunath from Shimoga several years ago. It is said that in 2011 he had fallen into depression due to some illness and allegedly committed suicide. He had also left behind a death note, sources said.
"My husband's family had made allegations against me regarding his death, but I came out clean," she said.
"They (husband's family) have constantly harassed me, making all kinds of allegations time and again. Recently they got landed property transferred to their name. Even at the time of marriage they harassed me a lot. It is only for my son that I am still living," she said.
Udupi SP Dr Boralingaiah too clarified to the media that police have no official information about Yashodha's alleged links to Yasin Bhatkal. "We will examine the case," he said.
