Mangalore, Nov 11: The members of Sri Rama Sene and Hindu Jana Jagruti Samiti organized a protest condemning the Congress state government's 'Shaadi Bhagya' scheme and Anti-Superstition Bill.

An effigy of chief minister Siddaramaiah was burnt by the protestors to express their anger towards both the proposals.

Shivananda Prabhu, spokesperson for Hindu Jana Jagruti Samiti said, “For the sake of votes the Congress government has been initiating such schemes. They have always been working on schemes that are against Hinduism and our community.”

“I am not supporting Betale Seva, but my question to the government is that if they can be successful in eradicating such religious forms, why cannot they eliminate pub culture which is spoiling the youth of the nation?” he added.

The state vice-president of Sri Rama Sena Kumar Malemar said, “The Muslim community has developed, hence rather than segregating the society in communities, the government should work for the welfare of the poor.”

“If the Anti-Superstition Bill which has anti-religious ideologies is passed we willd hold a massive protest in the state,” he warned.

"Is chief minister Siddaramaiah a true Hindu, as he has been chalking out welfare schemes only for Muslims," he thundered.

Sri Rama Sena members including Ganesh Attavar, Jeevan Neermarga and Mahesh Bhat participated in the protest.
