Mangalore: Passenger caught at airport with 6 gold bars worth Rs 45.5 lac

Mangalore, Sep 25: The officers of customs at Mangalore International Airport on Wednesday September 25 seized six gold bars valued at Rs 45.55 lac from a passenger.
The passenger, identified as Abdul Rahiman Malangala, is a resident of Hidayatnagar, Kasargod.
Abdul arrived at the airport by Jet Airways flight from Dubai at 8.30 am.
The officers seized six gold bars of 24 carat purity, weighing 1499.450 grams, altogether worth Rs 45.45 lac.
The gold bars were concealed in the passenger's baggage, stated a media release from the customs.
