New Delhi, Jan 20: The Supreme Court has ruled that the four-year-old son of Bengaluru techie Atul Subhash, who tragically died by suicide in December, will stay with his mother, Nikita Singhania.

In a key decision on Monday, the court granted Nikita custody of her son after reviewing a petition seeking the child’s custody. The ruling followed a video call with the child conducted by Justices B V Nagarathna and S C Sharma.

At the start of the hearing, the petitioners requested more time to submit a detailed affidavit, but the court swiftly rejected the request. "We want to see the child. Present him before us immediately," Justice Nagarathna emphasised.

Nikita Singhania and her family, including her mother and brother, are facing charges of abetting Atul Subhash’s suicide. Both family members were arrested and later granted bail.
