Mangalore: Miscreants set Modi banner on fire at Gurpur

Mangalore, Sep 20: A banner showing Gujarat chief minister and BJP's PM nominee Narendra Modi, hung near a bus stand in Gurpur here was set on fire by unknown miscreants.
The banner read “Ondu Bharatha shreshta Bharatha” and “Modi Lao Desh Bachao”.
The banner with pictures of Narendra Modi and Swami Vivekananda was put up by Namo Brigade near the bus stand. The banner was set on fire by unknown people on Thursday September 19 night.
A similar incident had also occurred at Mudipu area two days ago and the police had arrested those who were responsible for the destruction of the banner. Police have informed that Nawaz and his group who are identified in several criminal activities in Mudipu were involved in the misdeed.
A person wearing Modi T-shirt was also assaulted in Gurpur area. Activists of Namo Brigade have complained to the Bajpe police and a case is registered in this regard.
