Panaji, Feb 11: Cashing on the Valentine's day fever, the hotel industry in Goa has dished out various offers to woo the Cupid-struck clients.
"Candle-light dinner, free entry for couples into discotheque, complimentary airport transport, and guitarist accompanying you to sing a song for your loved ones…’’ explains Abhishekh Nath, president (operations), La Calypso Resorts Pvt Ltd, Baga.
Almost all the resorts in Goa are trying to flatter their clientele by offering various love-laced offers, which includes a romantically decorated room.
Stepping into the race, Goa Mariotte Resort at Miramar, near Panaji, has various cakes on display at their cake-shop. They have also floated special package for their clients alike many other five-star resorts.
Though Valentine's Day is four days away, the parties have already started in a few hotels. From Friday onwards, various Djs including Dj Who Sane will rock the floors at La Calypso.
At La Calypso, the management has specially decorated 36 rooms. "There will be surprise gift hampers in the room and you can expect real surprise from the hampers,’’ quips Nath.
He said that packages are tailor-made to suit the pockets of lovebirds. "We are the only resort in Goa which offers exclusive cottages on the beach,’’ Nath said confidently.
Goa being the tourist hot-spot which is also emerging as a honeymoon destination, there is a lot happening here on Valentine’s night. And for the night,the watchdogs would be on the move to ensure that everything is fine.
Indian Music Industry (IMI), an institution working towards combating music piracy, has decided to conduct raids at various functions to ensure that pirated music is not played. "Due share of the music should go for the artistes; hence we will check the functions,’’ IMI general secretary Savio D’Souza said. The IMI has conducted 8,000 raids in various parts of country since 1998.
