Karnataka High Court grants stay on suo motu case by Malpe police against Pramodh Madhwaraj

Udupi, April 2: The High Court of Karnataka has granted a stay order on the suo motu case filed against former minister Pramodh Madhwaraj by the Malpe police.

The Malpe police had filed a suo motu case against Madhwaraj for making derogatory remarks during a protest at Malpe port, which was held in response to the assault of a fisherwoman.

In order to challenge the suo motu case, Madhwaraj filed a petition in the High Court seeking an interim stay order to halt the enquiry.

The order was issued by Karnataka High Court judge Pradeep Singh Yerur.
