Belman, August 16: Belman Saint Joseph Higher Primary School, high School and English Medium School jointly observed the 67th Independence day celebrations.
On this occasion veteran priest of Saint Joseph Church and convener of educational institution Fr Lawrence B D’ Souza hoisted the flag.
Fr Henry Mascarenhas, Church administrative Committee vice president and the schools old student association honorary president Gregory Menezes were present on this occasion.
NCC cadets and Scouts performed the march-past drill and offered salutations to the Tri-color flag. High school headmistress Renilda Pereira, Higher Primary School headmistress Monika Monteiro were present on stage.
Under the guidance of Haridas Prabhu, NCC sergeant Joel Pinto offered the guard of honor. On this occasion prizes were distributed to various competition winners. The students presented a patriotic song. Sachin Salian welcomed, Melani Demello also spoke on this occasion. Riona Joyce D’ Souza and teacher Pundalika Marate compered this event.
On this occasion, Usha Stella the convent incharge, English medium headmistress Jenita D’Souza were also present.
Belman Gram Panchayat celebrates Independence Day
Belman Gram Panchayat president Shankar Soda hoisted national flag in Independence Day programme organized Belman grampanchayath. Gram Panchayath immediate past president Mallika Rao, members Geetha Prabhu, Walter Tony Noronha, Yogish Mallya, Ganesh Mulki and other villagers were present on this occasion.
