Sullia, Feb 1: The District Crime Investigation Bureau (DCIB) police led by inspector Tilakchandra have arrested one person for possessing brown sugar and charas at Bellare near here on Tuesday January 31.

The arrested has been identified as Bhaskaran (38), a resident of Kukkujadka near here.  He had 725 grams of brown sugar and 50 grams of charas with him, which he was to sell to a trader in Kerala.  The initial enquiry revealed that the drug substance was brought from Madikeri.  The total value of the seized drugs has been estimated at Rs 6 lac.

The case has now been handed over to the Sullia police for further investigation.
