Puttur: St Philomena College inaugurates Commerce Association activities

Puttur, Nov 22: The department of Commerce at St Philomena College inaugurated Commerce Association activities for the academic year 2024-25 with a vibrant programme that celebrated the essence of student growth and academic excellence.

The chief guest of the event, Nalinakshi A S, former principal of Government First Grade College, Puttur, delivered an inspiring address to the students. In her speech, she stressed the importance of hard work and resilience, urging students to embrace failures as integral stepping stones to success.

Highlighting the golden years of student life, she advised students to make the most of their opportunities and emphasised the value of self-improvement through perseverance. She concluded her words with best wishes for the future endeavours of the students.

The programme was presided over by Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, principal of the college. In his presidential remarks, he congratulated the achievers of the department and motivated all students to exhibit their best qualities. “Energy, inspiration, desperation, and the fight for a cause are essential to achieve greatness,” he remarked. He also reflected on the fleeting nature of time, encouraging students to seize every moment and strive for continuous improvement.

Rithesh Rai M, a rank holder from the 2022-23 batch, who secured the 2nd rank in the Mangalore University examination was felicitated. He also achieved a remarkable feat by clearing both groups of the CA Intermediate examination on his first attempt. Other students who excelled in the CA Foundation examination were also honoured with tokens of appreciation, presented by the principal, in recognition of their commendable accomplishments.

Tanvir Pinto extended a warm welcome while Simran Taj proposed the vote of thanks and Zakiya Sana compered.
