Mangaluru: Srinivas University Institute organises dental check-up programme

Mangaluru, Nov 22: The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of the BCom department organized a successful Dental check-up programme on November 19 at Srinivas University. The event, took place which aimed to spread awareness about the importance of oral health and provide free dental checkups for students.

Bhoomika and her team delivered an insightful presentation that focused on dental hygiene and preventive care, emphasizing the long-term benefits of regular dental maintenance. Students learned about proper brushing, flossing techniques, the role of nutrition in dental health, and preventive measures for common oral issues such as cavities and gum disease.

The session also highlighted how maintaining good oral health can contribute to overall well-being. The participation was commendable, with 70 students, along with faculty members and NSS volunteers, working together to ensure the smooth coordination of the event. The dental experts provided their valuable services to all participants, making the event a well-rounded educational and health-centric initiative. Following the presentation, over 70 students from BCom ACCA participated in complimentary dental checkups conducted by five skilled dentists from the university’s dental department.

In conclusion, the programme successfully met its objectives, raising awareness on dental health and providing necessary care to students, thanks to the joint efforts of the NSS unit, faculty members, and dental professionals.

The session was organized under the guidance of Dr Venkatesh S Amin – dean, Prof Sharmila S Shetty - HOD of BCom, Prof Yashaswi A Ail - ACCA course co-ordinator, and Prof S Seethalaxmi - NSS co-ordinators.
