Mangalore, May 14: The Institute of Karate and Allied Arts, recently conducted a black belt grading test for its members at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, here.
21 members of DK, Udupi and Bellary districts were promoted to black belt and higher degrees.
The grading test was conducted by Kyoshi Praveen Kumar, who is the technical chairman for Budokan Karate Federation as well as chief instructor of Institute of Karate and Allied Arts.
Assistant chief instructors of the institute Shihan Anand Devadiga, Shihan Balakrishna Alva, Shihan Vinod Ullal and Shihan M Suresh assisted in the grading.
The names of those who were promoted to black belt are as follows.
Promoted to Black Belt fourth Dan: Sathish Kumar Moodubelle
Promoted to Black Belt third Dan: Ganesh K, Nagesh Yekkur, Ravishankar Nayak, Gayathri C
Promoted to Black Belt second Dan: Priya Kulal, Prashanth Acharya, Karthik Vailaya
Promoted to Black Belt first Dan: Vasavi Rao, Asline D’Souza, Prateek Naik, Varnith Shetty, Vachan Shetty, Samaahith Addoor, Pratheeksha, Mukul H S, Lizane D’Souza, Ankith Kumar, Jagannath, Adarsh V, Pooja H M.
