Mangalore, Apr 20: “The state government is filled with corruption. The Congress activists should try to get rid of antisocial elements in the society and should concentrate in making Mohiddin Bava a winning candidate,” said Thomas, MP from Kerala.
He addressed the gathering after inaugurating the election office in Hosabettu on Friday April 20.
“Carelessness, corruption in the state exists because of BJP government and for good administration Congress should come to power. For peaceful and development works in Mangalore North, party activists should try to make him as a winning candidate,” he said.
“Vijaykumar Shetty is like my elder brother and I am facing this election under his guidance,” said north candidate Mohiddin Bava. There were 17 aspirants for the election, but there was close fight between me and Shetty and finally I got the ticket, said Bava. If Vijaykumar would contest independently then BJP would win but for us defeating BJP is important and hence we are together. Bava also assured to work under the guidance of Shetty if he wins.
Vijaykumar Shetty in his address said, in order to defeat BJP, I listened to senior leader Janardhan Poojary’s words by not contesting as an independent candidate and hence I am working for the party. He called upon all the party workers to actively take part in the election work.
Annayya Anchan, block vice president, Shok Shetty, Purushottam Chitrapur, Pratiba, Nagaveni, Kavitha, Deepak, Abdul Sattar, Ullas Shetty, Laxmidar, Sadashiv Shetty, Keshava Sanil, Hussain Katipalla, Gulzar Banu among others were present.
